Modern Manoir Chique — Renovatie / Renovation Flemish Brabant door PLMR. Architecture & Design

The modern version of Manoir Chique with a Nancy Meyers twist takes the elegance of a traditional manor and refreshes it with contemporary design principles.

The architecture blends the romantic charm of the manor style with clean lines, open spaces, and a softer, more modern atmosphere. It is a reinterpretation that keeps the soul of the manor but adapts it to today's way of living.

The color palette is central to this modern twist. While the base remains classic and neutral, the tones are updated for a brighter, fresher look. Warm whites, creamy beiges, and dark greens dominate, but they are layered with lighter woods such as oak and ash, which give the interiors a more contemporary feel. Pops of muted modern colors—like sage green, soft blush, or even navy—are introduced in fabrics, furniture, or accent walls to break the monotony and add personality. Metals such as brushed brass, matte black, or soft gold are used in lighting and hardware, giving the space a modern edge while still feeling elegant.

The style of the architecture balances tradition with modern simplicity. Classic manor elements, like symmetrical façades, high ceilings, and large windows, are preserved, but the details are pared down. Instead of heavy ornamentation, the design uses sleek moldings, thin window frames, and simplified proportions. The result is a building that feels rooted in history but speaks the language of modern design.

This approach creates a fresh interpretation of Manoir Chique: a home that looks elegant from the outside, yet feels light, warm, and functional on the inside. The modern version keeps the timeless grace of the manor but strips away heaviness, replacing it with airy spaces, natural light, and a mix of traditional and modern materials.
